When Your Identity is Broken

As a Creative, your gift is supposed to give a voice to the voiceless, hope to the hopeless and inspiration to those who need and desire the spark. However, often times there are so many loud voices, all talking at the same time. Seemingly telling you, you are not good enough. Or what you're doing is not working. Before long, you start to invest in the chater. Your daily habits begin to reflect that your grip is loosening and ultimately, your identity is broken.

You brought into the false rhetoric and gravitated towards the idea, that somehow, you are not enough. When you are putting out your art and it does not give the return on investment you see others getting, you allow yourself to believe you have to become something else in order to become successful.

But if you notice, that's not working either. So what do I do now? You think to yourself. You do nothing. You go and get silent. The doing and hearing and doing and hearing constantly is the problem. How can GOD bring you closer if your mind never settles?

Our identities are broken when we stray away from who we are and what gifts we bring to the table. We are all unique and special. Through our journeys we find similarities that connect each other in special ways. But if we lose connection with the creator, we lose connection to our identity and then people lose connection with us.

Unplug each day for at least 10 minutes. Pray each day for at least 10 minutes. Journal each day for at least 10 minutes.
